Soon after immigrating to this country from southern Italy, BOCCIA Inc.’s founder Rizziero (Ray) Boccia learned the masonry trade from his father-in-law, Joseph Moccia, a union mason, and the First Generation of Masons & General Contractors
1940s

1955
Ray started BOCCIA out of his home in Elmont, New York at 25 years old
1955

1965
BOCCIA completed its first major waterproofing project at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY, which included sub-floor drainage systems and exterior foundation waterproofing
1965

1980
The Third Generation – Ray’s sons Frank, Joe, and Vinny – joined the family business and learned the trade hands-on
1980

1984
The company found a new home at 168 Broadway, Garden City Park, NY 11040 (aka “The Yard”)
1984

1985
Mauricio Duraes, Senior Construction Manager, and Stacy Moskowitz, Office Manager, joined the team and are now commemorating their 40-year anniversaries
1985

1986
The company patented and introduced its very own waterproofing system, the Hollow Kick Molding Drainage System, which is still being installed and protecting homes four decades later

1995
Vincent Boccia, P.E., started Engineered Building Inspections, P.C. (EBI), a professional engineering firm that performs consulting engineering services

2005
Celebrating 50 years in business

2024
The Fourth Generation – Michael Boccia – joined the business after earning his civil engineering degree and working for two international construction and consulting firms

Celebrating 70 years of being the most trusted name of waterproofing and masonry in New York
